Abriendo puertas profesionales y creativas

Does the idea of engaging with Latin American and Spanish culture, literature, art, and film intrigue you? Do you desire to explore the distinct perspectives and experiences from these parts of the world with no need for translations?

Working towards fluency in Spanish by studying Hispanic history, cultures, and literature is an approach to language learning that strengthens your communication skills, sharpens your critical thinking, develops your analytical abilities, and deepens your creativity as you come to think about language differently, all of which are relevant skills for any future career path.

One unique aspect of Susquehanna’s Spanish studies program is that you can study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country, such as Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica or Cuba. Susquehanna is one of a few universities worldwide that requires language majors to study abroad for a semester, providing an immersive experience. There’s no better language learning experience than living in the culture and speaking the language!

You can pair Spanish with another major, such as international studies, business, biology or psychology, or add one of our interdisciplinary minors. Having a strong command of Spanish and being able to perform critical cultural analysis makes you a much more attractive job candidate and makes your Susquehanna degree even more valuable.
